Dr Mien Jao is a Professor at Lamar University, Texas

Dr Jao's research interests are geotechnical engineering, foundation design and analysis, soil testing/evaluation/improvement, numerical modeling in geotechnical engineering, and constitutive modeling of engineering materials. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Geotechnical engineering, from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, in 1995, after receiving a Masters degree at the same university in 1991. His B.S. is in Civil and Hydraulic Engineering, Chung-Yuan University, Taiwan, 1985.

Dr Jao has previously worked as a Project Engineer/Geotechnical Engineer for GTS Technologies, Inc., Harrisburg, PA, and as an engineer in various positions Taiwan.
